Cheptenye Boys High School Visits AGC Media Department and Radio Injili
A group of students from Cheptenye Boys High School recently visited the AGC Media Department at the Central Office in Kericho.
The students were Form Three students and were given a tour of the AGC video editing and web site editing, as well as the Radio Injili studioes led by their teacher John Kirui.
One of the students, Simon Korir said, "At Cheptenye we are aspiring to attain a mean score of 8.5 in our national exams come next year. We were impressed by the candidates of last year who tried their best to attain a mean score of 7.1. But we aspire higher! And with God's help, we shall attain this."
The students were impressed with the church's use of digital media to tell its story to the world.
Radio Injili not only broadcasts all over western Kenya, it is also streaming live on the internet and is able to reach the Kenyan diaspora with a "taste of home" both in terms of music, entertainment, local news, and daily inspiration.
The Media office assists with the church website and video production to help inform people of what God is doing through the ministries in Kenya and beyond.
With a missionary force of about 55 missionaries serving in 4 countries in East Africa, the use of mass media, especially video helps people in local churches to get a "feel" for the challenges that missionaries face and assists them to know better how to pray for them.
