E2: Establishing Churches

Evangelistic work will result in the need to congregate believers into local churches, where they will be provided with spiritual nurture and care. This being the Second Strategic Objective of the Africa Gospel Church (5E) strategies is the Establishment of Churches incorporates Congregational worship life, Church planting strategies and Construction of Sanctuaries (The 3Cs). The department is headed by the Director of Church Establishment.

Congregational Worship Life

Congregational worship life offers the internal benefit vital for the spiritual well-being of the local congregations. To have congregations that is dynamic and theologically grounded with the knowledge of the polity and doctrine of Africa Gospel Church. This entails:

Quality congregational life in all AGC congregations, including worship, preaching, teaching, and fellowship.

Established guidelines, policies, and worship patterns that are both dynamic and relevant to each community.

Enhanced worship for all inclusive of members with special needs.

Church Planting

As the church focuses on planting new churches, it also recognizes the crucial role that existing churches have in establishment of new church plants. Thus, the need to also constantly seek to revamp existing churches that are struggling and require assistance.

Church Planting offers both the qualitative and quantitative benefits of the denomination. Being a church that is founded on Missions, planting churches in the rural, urban and remote mission frontiers is our means of propagation towards fulfilling our vision and mission. This entails:

To set policies and provide direction for new church plants, which include upgrading of preaching points to local churches.

To recommend to the Regional Councils the churches that should be run semi-autonomously

Construction of Sanctuaries

The church recognizes the importance of an enabling environment for worship and ministry. Therefore, the church will seek to ensure quality sanctuaries, with appropriate facilities and that are in strategic locations are available to its congregations. Ensure all AGC churches congregate in suitable physical
locations with appropriate facilities.
Construction of Sanctuaries offers external benefit vital in publicity, accessibility and security of our local congregations. This will bear the trademark of the church while giving our congregations credibility and comfort. This necessitates:

Set policies, standards and guidelines for church construction, procurement, and contracting.

All AGC Churches are designed aesthetically to enhance the quality of worship.

Approved building plans and project management for AGC sanctuaries and facilities.

All AGC Churches are meeting in an established physical location.

Proposed distinctive pattern and identity for all AGC churches and facilities.

All AGC Churches have been properly surveyed and have legal land documents before a permanent building can be built.
