Missionary Profiles
Earnest and Ann Korir: Kang'olitian, Pokot PDF Print E-mail
The Korirs are Missionaries to the Pokot people of the West.  They are based at Kang’olitiang, a centre of arid land with tribesmen who are pastoralists.  These people within the arid area where no crops are grown since the seasons within Kang’olitiang is dry throughout the year.  Subsistence is based on roots of wild trees because of the dry land, dying animals due to hunger and honey from beehive harvest.

East Pokot: David and Martha Kitur PDF Print E-mail

david kitur and familyDavid and Martha Kitur are based in Kamurio mission station in East Pokot.

David is a graduate of Kaboson Pastors School, and is also a medial practitioner. He has served previously in West Pokot and recently in Ng’oron doing not only clinical duties, but also church planting and evangelism among the Pokot.  David’s medical training is a great help in demonstrating the love of Christ in practical ways.

Kamurio is located at the heart of East Pokot, 50 km from Ngoron and 100km from Marigat. David has the task of catering for both the physical and spiritual health of the people in Kamurio.

David and Martha's three boys are schooling in Tenwek High School and Mosop Mission School.

 
Elijah and Rachel Bett: Mosop Mission School PDF Print E-mail

elijah and rachel bettElijah and Rachel Bett felt a clear call to missionary work many years ago, but it was some time until God made clear his plan for them.

Both are teachers by profession, and a number of years ago, God led them to establish a school and a home for the education of missionary children. The ministries have expanded over the years, and now Mosop Mission School has missionary children, local children and orphans from various places schooling there.

The Betts feel that God has called the to serve those whom God has called by helping educate and care for their children.

 
Kainuk, Turkana: David and Angeline Sigei PDF Print E-mail
David and Angeline are serving in Kainuk mission station in Turkana.  Kainuk is the “gateway” to the Turkana district and is a growing, multi-tribal town.

The main ministry of Davie and Angeline is evangelism and discipleship and church planting among the Turkana people.

David is a graduate of Kaboson Pastors School. Angeline is also a graduate of Sitotwet Training School.  Before being called into missions, they served as pastors of churches in Chebango and Kapkelei areas.

They are current learning the Turkana language while on duty at their station.  Pray that they will become clear communicators of the Good News in the heart language of the people.  In addition, they are expecting another baby in mid-2006.

 
Maasai: David and Sarah Kariankei PDF Print E-mail
David and Sarah Kariankei have been involved in evangelism among the Purko Maasai for the last four years.

David is a graduate of Kaboson Pastors School and is a product of the Naikarra mission which was pioneered in the early 1960s.

They are now involved in evangelism and church planting among the Purko and Laitayiok Maasai of Tanzania. The new churches are based in Mondorasi, in Ngorongoro district of Arusha province.

They hope to expand their evangelistic activities to cover Soit Sambu and Ilchorroi centers in the interior areas of Ngorongoro.

David and Sarah have three children, Rose, Nathan and Joash.

 
Mission Rescue Team: Julius Ng'etich PDF Print E-mail

juluis ngetichJulius is a free lance businessman who runs tractor hire services.  He is a skilled mechanic and has chosen to use his resources and skills to assist in mission work.

He has helped to form the “Rescue Team” to provide rescue operations in the mission fields. He has been involved in evacuating the Simotwo's in the midst of raging gun battle between the Ilchamus and Pokots. On several occasions he has also been involved in repairing or towing of broken down vehicles used to access the mission fields.

His famous 4 by 4 Diatsu truck has come to be cherished by many a missionary because of its fuel efficiency and reliability in the impassable terrains common to the mission. The missionaries find it handy to borrow when returning back to the field from home.

Office: David and Alice Mutai PDF Print E-mail
david and alice mutai and familyDavid and Alice Mutai provide overall leadership to the AGC mission ministries.

Originally from the Nakuru area, David and Alice served as AGC missionaries in Turkwel for 6 and a half years before returning for additional studies at KHBC.

The Mutais have a love for missions, missionaries, and sharing Christ in difficult places.  Their greatest passion is to see missionaries serving effectively and seeing many people come to Christ and strong, growing churches established.

They have four children:  two are in college, one is in secondary school, and another is in primary school.

walter and helen ruttoWalter and Hellen handed offer the Turkana minstries to new missionaries. Walter is now a student at Egerton University pursuing MA in Community development and project management. He help in mission office and Central office whenever he is on holiday. 

Hellen is working in mission office as the secretary.

 Prior to their assignment in Turkana, they have also served in Maasai ministries and in Ng’oron.  As a result of their work, the Africa Gospel Church has a congregation in central and southern part of  Turkana District.Both are graduates of Kenya Highlands Bible College.  While a student at KHBC, Walter was one of the key leaders in starting the missions club at the college. In addition, both Walter and Hellen have graduated with BA in theology and Bible  at International Christian Ministries in Kitale. They have their first born called Deborah Chepkoech who is class one.

They have a passion to accomplish the great commission through Holistic ministry.

 

 
Sekenani: John ole Kisotu PDF Print E-mail
john ole kisutoJohn Ole Kisotu is serving as a missionary pastor at Sekenani mission station.

He is married to Elisabeth and they have four children.

He had served as a pastor in Leshuta Local church, as well as the district leader in the Leshuta region for two years before moving on to Sekenani.

Sekenani is located at the entrance to the Maasai Mara game reserve, approximately 80 km from Narok town. Sekenani is inhabited mostly by Maasai’s but is increasingly being occupied by other tribes who are working in the tourism sector.

John has recently graduated from Narok Bible College with his Batchelor of Theology degree.


 
Special Assignment: Benjamin and Josephine Kijape PDF Print E-mail

benjamin kijapeBenjamin and Josephine Kijape are serving on a special assignment for the church.

They are both graduates of Kenya Highlands Bible College. Benjamin had previously served at the Central Office doing administrative work. He hails from Olkoroi in Naikara area.

Naikarra is A.G.C ’s first successful mission station.

 
Stanley and Egla Lang'at, Kapenguria, Pokot PDF Print E-mail

stanley and egla langatPastor Stanley and Egla Lang’at are now senior in the Pokot ministry.  They are now based at the District Headquarters in Pokot Kapenguria) now establishing an Urban Church which was born through the converts of Chepnyal station.  The Church has grown and this is one of the AGC’s achievement in the ten year plan : Planting Churches in major cities in Kenya. 

Pastor Lang’at is a pioneer graduate of Kaboson Pastors’ School with profound knowledge in building and construction.  He manages the Pokot ministries and Urban Develop-ment of the Church at the moment.  He started Mission ministry in Turkana and later was posted to West Pokot before he moved to the Poskot District Headquarters.

Egla serves in women ministry, textile knitting and discipleship.  The family is blessed with four children who are already school going.

Pray for the expansion of the Church to incorporate the Pastor’s house, Baptismal pool and the Sunday School.

 
Sudan: Devinah Chepkirui PDF Print E-mail
Devinah Chepkirui is a recent graduate of Kenya Highlands Bible College.  While in college, God gave her a clear call and a strong desire to share the Gospel where Christ is not yet know.

Currently, she is serving as a volunteer with Safe Harbour Ministries as she awaits posting by the AGC.  There she helps with fellowship groups, works as a chaplain in the dispensaries as well as working as a medicine dispenser there.

She believes strongly that God has a place of ministry for her in Sudan and is waiting patiently for the ministries there to develop so that the church can send her as an AGC missionary.  She has a passion for evangelism and church planting in addition to the medical ministry.

 
Sudan: Susan Motelin PDF Print E-mail

Susan Motelin is a retired civil servant who has desired to use her retirement years serving as a volunteer missionary.

She is playing a crucial role in making preparations for missionaries to access the field. She is currently involved in publicizing Sudan missions.

She has assisted in setting up a mission station in Boma, southern Sudan. While there, she has personally been involved in training the Murule tribe basic agriculture

 
Tanzania Border: Daniel and Emily Kisotu PDF Print E-mail

daniel and emily kisotuDaniel and Emily are serving at Olposimoru mission station on the Kenya / Tanzania border.

Daniel is a graduate of Kaboson Pastors School. He is a product of Naikarra mission station which was started in the early sixties.

Olposimoru was established in 1997 and had been under the Naikarra area.  Currently it is the base for the Tanzania ministries. Since then two preaching point have been founded in Tanzania at Oldisare and Telegut, They have an average attendance of 15 to 20  people each Sunday. One local church at Olkoroi has 20 member.

Daniel served at Olposimoru for the last six years before he married Emily in the 2002. They have one daughter, Grace Silantoi.

 
Transmara: Joel and Susan Chepkwony PDF Print E-mail

Joel and Susan ChepkwonyJoel and Susan Chepkwony are missionaries to the Maasai in Transmara district in the south western part of Kenya.

Joel does church planting and pastoral ministries, and is also an active evangelist.

In addition, he teaches adult literacy classes both for the benefit of the people, and in order to share the Gospel with them and enable them to learn and read.

Susan is a primary school teacher and teaches at one of the local primary schools in Sitoka.

Currently both are at home due to clan conflict in the area which has affected the ministries there.

Joel is a graduate of Kenya Highlands Bible College.

 
Turkana: Robert Yegon PDF Print E-mail

Robert Yegon is ministering in Lodwar town and is primarily doing evangelism among the Turkana people and is working to see churches started with strong local leadership.

Robert is not yet married, and is a graduate of Kenya Highlands Bible College.  Prior to his ministry in Lodwar, Robert worked as a church planter with the Kipkelion area of the AGC, and has also worked in Chebango area.

Robert is engaged to be married in December 2006.  After the wedding, he and his wife will go back to Lodwar to continue the ministries there.
 

 
Turkwel: Raphael and Emmy Ondicho PDF Print E-mail
Raphael and Emmy Ondicho are leading the church planting and evangelism ministries at the Turkwel station in Turkana.

Raphael is a graduate of Kabason Pastor’s School, and Emmy has a certificate in Early Childhood Education.

The ministries in Turkwel concentrate on Christian Education, evangelism, youth ministry and pastoral work. Emmy teaches at the Lorogon Primary School in addition to helping with the church ministries.

In addition to the work at Turkwel, they are also working to start additional churches in the area.

Turkana is the largest district in Kenya.  From Kainuk to Lokichokio is 583 km, and the road and communication networks are very poor.

The Ondichos have 4 children:  Meshack Kimutai and Caleb Kiprotich are in primary school, and Daidy Chepngeno and Egla Chepngeno are in nursery school.

 
Uganda: Kennedy Kirui PDF Print E-mail

kennedy kiruiKennedy Kirui is from near Kitale, but has been studying and living in Uganda for the past several years. 

Not yet married, he is a graduate of Kenya Highlands Bible College and Kampala International University.

He is living and working in Kampala where he leads ministries with university students there as well as working in leadership training and evangelism in the rural areas.

Kennedy is working jointly with World Gospel Mission Uganda, the Africa Gospel Church in Uganda, and the Africa Gospel Church Kenya.

 
West Pokot: Christine Chebet Maina PDF Print E-mail
Christine is part of the Kang’oletiang’ mission staff, together with Ernest and  Ann Korir.  She has a very strong love and compassion for the Pokot people, and longs for them to know and serve Christ.  

She is single and was among the first A.G.C women  missionaries who pioneered this station together with Ann Towet. A graduate of Kenya Highlands Bible College, the main part of her work is doing church planting and evangelism.

She speaks fluent Pokot and has seen her ministry spread across the border from Kenya into Uganda.
