Africa Gospel Church, Kenya
The Central Church Council and entire membership of the Africa Gospel Church in Kenya is pleased to announce the election and installation of
Rev. Dr. Robert Lang'at, Ph.D. as the church's new bishop.
Prior to being named as bishop, Dr. Lang'at served as the Provost of Kabarak University. He was installed at a colorful ceremony in Kericho on January 15, 2011.
Dr. Lang'at is a life-long member of the Africa Gospel Church. He is a graduate of Kenya Highland Bible College, Wesley Biblical Seminary (USA), and Drew University (USA).
Rev. Dr. Lang'at attended Tenwek High School and went on to graduate from Kenya Highlands Bible College, where he met and married his wife, Jane.
Dr. Lang'at earned an MA in theology at Wesley Biblical Seminary (Mississippi) and also earned a master's degree and a PhD from Drew University (New Jersey).
He has served as a pastor in two churches in Kenya and as a college professor in the United States, Kenya, and Nigeria.
He has also served on the board of the Africa Gospel Church Baby Center as well as the provost of Kabarack University in Kenya.
He is currently serving as the Chancellor of Kenya Highlands Evangelical University and as The Bishop of the Africa Gospel Church, Kenya.
His passions are teaching, preaching, and living the message of holiness.
He and his wife, Jane, a counselor, have four children.
The installation ceremony
The installation ceremony for Rev. DR. Robert Langat was done on 16th January 2011. The ceremony was done at the grounds of Kenya Highlands Evangelical University. The ceremony was presided over by the Retired AGC moderator the Rev Jonah Cheseng’eny. thousands of Christians from various denominations attended the ceremony.read more...
